Miss KELSEY

Kelsey Rose Young is an up-and-coming performer, teacher and choreographer based in Detroit, Michigan. Kelsey is on faculty with Showstopper conventions, Fuzion dance camp, and Motor City Tap Fest. She is the director and lead choreographer for the pre-professional tap company – Detroit Tap Repertory, as well as a member of Shelby Kaufman’s tap company, G.L.Y.D.E., and Detroit’s Jordan Mac hip hop crew. Kelsey recently performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra as part of the DSO Educational Series and was a guest speaker at the Moving With Detroit seminar for dance educators. In 2015, she was a contestant on the FOX Network's So You Think You Can Dance - Season 12, advancing to the Vegas round. She has had the privilege of studying under and performing alongside many of today’s most respected tap dancers and legends including Arthur Duncan, Ardie Bryant, Bill Irwin, Gregg Russell, Chloe Arnold, Sarah Reich, Chris Broughton, David Mann, Jenefer Miller, and Suzy Guarino. As a choreographer, Kelsey draws from her training and range of experiences as a singer and dancer to create a style that is intricate, gritty, passionate, and entertaining. Her pieces have received many awards and accolades across the country and she is quickly becoming one of the Midwest’s premier tap choreographers. Kelsey is a member of Cecchetti Council of America and is branching out into the ballroom arena completing her first season of amateur competition. She is currently working as a competitive tap instructor at two Metro Detroit studios and works independently as a choreographer for students throughout Michigan. Over the years, Kelsey has worked with the Jonas Brothers, Debbie Gibson, and Radio Disney and has performed in the Macy’s and Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parades, at the Detroit Jazz Festival, and at TedX Detroit.

Miss CATHY

INSTRUCTOR

Cathy has been with Performers Edge/Miss Harriet’s since the age of 4.  She just completed her 25th year of teaching and is looking so forward to many more years to come! Cathy has 4 kids ages 14, 12, 9 and 6, which you will see around the studio often, and has been married to her husband Kevin for 18 years. By day, Cathy is a school nurse and by night an ICU nurse at Mott. Cathy lives in Novi and volunteers for lots of things in our community. She loves teaching our preschool program but enjoys teaching a variety of all subjects and age groups. PEDC is the best place to be!


Miss CARLY

INSTRUCTOR


Carly Siracusa Carlin is an award winning dancer and choreographer. She was born, raised, and trained in New York City.  She has an extensive resume as both a dancer and choreographer that includes competitive and recreational dance as well as performances and shows across the U.S. She has won many awards as both a dancer and choreographer. Her true passion is teaching, bringing creative visons to life, and developing strong dancers in technique, precision, and performance.  Carly is the Artistic Director and head choreographer for the Northville High School Varsity Dance Company. In 2013, she started her own workshop company called “Next Level – THE WORKSHOP!!” where she teaches workshops to dancers ages 7-adult, both in Michigan , NYC, and expanding into other states. Aside from dance, Carly is also a gymnastics coach and a web designer and developer.

Miss Nicole

CO-OWNER


Nicole Cicala has been recognized as a student, competitor, professional dancer and choreographer. She has an extensive background in all genres of dance as well as acting and vocal. Her creative vision and ability to captivate audiences have been recognized through choreography awards at the National level. Nicole is certified through Dance Masters of America to teach tap, ballet and jazz. Outside of dance, Nicole is an Electrical Engineer and Sr. Manager of Purchasing at American Axle.  Her multifaceted background instills discipline, the importance of education in the dance and school classroom and the criticality of time management. Nicole’s students have gone on to train professionally with the Rockettes, Broadway Dance Center, Cruise lines, Universities, Disney and many more! Nicole hopes that her students learn skills in the classroom that will make them not only great dancers but also successful individuals in whatever they choose to do in life. ​​

Miss KATY

INSTRUCTOR


Better known as Katy Pop! has been dancing since the age of 3. Her love and passion for dance was almost instantaneous as she trained countless hours to become a well versed dancer and performer. Over the years she has trained with many well-known dancers and choreographers, further fueling her passion. After graduating high school, she attended Point Park University as a Jazz Dance Major. During her freshman semester she was honored with a phone call from Radio City Music Hall, it was a dream come true! For three years she toured the country as a Radio City Rockette and was blessed to work with some amazing talent and gained many lifelong friends. The next phase of her journey has turned out to be the most fun and rewarding one yet! She is currently a full time teacher and choreographer at Performers Edge Dance Company and loving every minute of it!  She has won numerous awards for her choreography and hopes to continue inspiring her students through dance as they inspire her every day
